The popular Alesis Nitro Max is an electronic drum kit that I can definitely recommend to beginners and semi-advanced drummers. This kit has everything for a good price: Mesh heads, Bluetooth, a kick pedal, good sounds and a realistic 10″ snare.
If you already own this kit, you may have noticed it: while playing, the snare starts to move, making the entire rack unstable. This affects the overall playing feel, especially when playing hard. Fortunately, there is a simple solution that will solve this problem for good and make your drum kit stable.

Why does the snare move?
The snare pad of the Alesis Nitro Max is relatively heavy and is directly attached to the rack. Every hit on the snare causes vibrations that are transmitted through the entire frame. The harder you play, the more the rack wobbles. This is annoying while playing, but can also be annoying when you use the kit for a live performance.
The solution: use a separate snare stand
By mounting the snare pad on a separate snare stand, you remove it from the rack and prevent vibrations from being transmitted through the frame. A snare stand is a three-legged stand that you also use with acoustic drums. It provides a firm, stable base, independent of the rest of the drum kit.
How do you attach the snare?
- Remove the snare pad from the rack
Loosen the clamp that secures the snare to the rack. - Place the snare on a loose snare stand
Choose a stand that is appropriate for the size of the snare pad, such as the Roland RDH-130. - Adjust the position
Adjust the height and angle of the snare stand to your preference. - Test the setup
Play the snare for a while and check that everything is stable. You will notice that the rack is now completely stable.
Which snare stand is suitable?
Please note: not every snare stand is suitable for this solution. Since the Nitro Max snare is small and many snare stands are only suitable for snares of 12″ or larger, it is important to use a stand that is suitable for this size, such as the Roland RDH-130 snare stand .
A small investment, big results
For a relatively low price you can purchase a separate snare stand. Models from brands such as Tama, Pearl or DW are often available between €30 and €70. Even a budget model offers a world of difference for the stability of your kit, but make sure that the stand supports the 10″ format.
