Millenium MPS-1000,

The Millenium MPS-1000 is a high-end electronic drum kit from the brand Millenium, the house brand of electronic drum kits from music store Thomann. The MPS-1000 is the only kit from Millenium with an acoustic appearance and comes in 3 different designs.
The MPS-1000 looks exactly like an acoustic drum kit. This makes it feel like you're sitting behind a real drum kit, but you won't be a nuisance to the neighbors.
The kit consists of a full-fledged 20″ kick drum, 13″ snare and toms of 10″, 12″ and 14″. The cymbals are only a fraction smaller than “real size”; the hihat is 13″ and in addition to the 18″ ride, two 15″ crashes are also included. Unique is that the cymbals can be played completely 360 degrees around .
Naturally, the kit features mesh heads , which provide comfortable and realistic playability but also reduce noise pollution.
The module of the Millenium MPS-1000 has 820 realistic sounds, 40 preset kits and 40 user kits. The integrated Bluetooth is very convenient so that you do not need an extra cable to connect your smartphone and play along with your favorite music in no time.
The module features 23 effects to create your ideal sound. Thanks to the sliders you can also easily adjust the volume of the pads individually.
The kit is available for 999 euros at the time of writing.
Fame DD-1000 MS

And now a slightly lesser known electronic drum kit: the Fame DD-1000 MS . This similar kit also has an acoustic design and is exclusively available at the German Music Store.
The bass drum of the Fame DD-1000 MS is just like the Millenium kit 20″. The snare is 13″ and the toms 10″, 10″ and 13″. These are also mesh heads that play comfortably. The ride has a realistic size of 18″ and the two crashes have a size of twice 13″. These cymbals are also playable all around .
The module of this kit has Bluetooth just like the kit of Millenium, which makes playing along with your favorite music even easier. With 644 sounds , 25 preset kits and 10 user kits you have limited space to create and save your own kits, although it should be sufficient for most drummers.
The Fame DD-1000 MS also has a sleek acoustic design and comes complete with all the hardware you need. The module is attached to the hihat stand, unlike the MPS-1000 where the module has a separate stand.
At the moment the kit is the same price as the MPS-1000, namely 999 euros .
Which one should you choose?
At first glance, the Millenium MPS-1000 and the Fame DD-1000 MS look quite similar. However, when we delve deeper into the specifications and the size of the toms and cymbals, we discover a number of differences.
Both the cymbals and toms on the Millenium MPS-1000 are larger and will therefore feel more realistic. If you are looking for a kit that comes as close to an acoustic drum kit as possible, you will want the toms and cymbals to be identical in size.
Also the few preset and user kits of the Fame DD-1000 MS are noticeable, because there are quite few. Musicians who want to get the most out of their drum kit or want to use the kit for live, usually need more user kits.
The Millenium MPS-1000 also has a choice of 3 different designs : Grey Line , Pearl White and Natural . These designs fit better in a home environment and will also look better on stage.
All in all, the Millenium MPS-1000 comes out on top, simply because this kit outperforms the Fame kit on all counts. Unless the looks of the Fame DD-1000 MS appeal to you more, the MPS-1000 is a more logical choice for the advanced drummer looking for a kit with an acoustic design.
